Out of the Elements

February in my part of the country can be pretty unpredictable. There are sometimes stretches when the temperature hits in the 60s with clear, sunny skies. Before both knees and a shoulder were operated on I used to play golf every year during these stretches. Even if I hadn't gone under the knife there would have been no golf this year. With over a foot of snow still on the ground and the threat of another inch or two moving through the first evening of this two day event, it sure was nice to be inside a conference center for the annual Chazziz Valentine's Car Show.

Location, Location, Location

Location can often make or break a car show. In the case of Voodoo Tradition II the location is unfortunately a parking lot. Parking lots tend to hold heat and walking around on them all day isn't always the most comfortable. But in this case the parking lot belongs to a huge fan of car shows, Quaker Steak and Lube so that means there is some really great food available and if you need to cool off, just go inside and grab a cold drink.

Voodoo Tradition II

The official name of the annual show hosted by the local chapter of the Voodoo Kings is Voodoo Tradition II Rod and Kustom Show. The name pretty much sums up the majority of the vehicles that are on display but this show draws a great many types of cars from all over the region which makes it one of my favorites.

Catching Up With the Voodoo Kings

As I sit here having suffered record low temperatures last night and half of foot of new snow on the ground I long for the warmth of spring and the coming of the new car show season. In the meantime, though, I continue to go back and post pictures from shows I attended this past season. Today I'm beginning to catch up with the great show hosted by the local Voodoo Kings.

The End of the Line

Today is the end of the line for my coverage of this year's 36th Annual ACE Car Show. Hopefully you have enjoyed the pictures I took at this show as much as I enjoyed taking them. As always, feel free to leave comments or to drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

Two More From the ACE Show

Happy Monday and welcome back to my coverage of the 36th Annual ACE Car Show. I didn't get an exact number but there were well over 100 cars on display for this year's event. It's like this every year (if the weather isn't bad) as this has become one of the region's premiere classic events.

Most Popular New Vehicles By State

I found this article on line and thought I'd share. What I find interesting is that while Toyotas and Hondas are built only a few hours from me, I'm ensconced in the middle of "Bow Tie" country.

End of the Week But Not the End of the ACE Show

I'm not one of those people who has to make everything fit into nice neat little packages. Yes, while doing this blog I'll try to figure out ways to put my posts from a given show all in one week but sometimes that just doesn't work out. I don't obsess about it. But I do manage more often than not to make things fit. Not this time, though as you'll see on Monday when I have more from the 36th Annual ACE Car Show.
