10th Annual 1st Baptist Church of Glen Este Show

This year was the 10 Annual 1st Baptist Church of Glen Este Car Show and it was held under a beautiful blue sky. The temperature was near perfect and surprisingly for the time of year there wasn't much in the way of humidity. That brought out some cool cars such as a kit car replica of an old pre-war Mercedes, a Chevy Nova, a Chevrolet Impala convertible, a 1961 Studebaker Hawk, a 1991 Pontiac Trans-Am, a 1967 Impala, a 1955 Ford Fairlane, and a 1953 Chevy Bel Air.

First Baptist Church of Glen Este Car Show

The annual show at the 1st Baptist Church of Glen Este is one that I have been attending for the past few years. This is a smaller show, this year featuring just under 50 cars, but it is in a great tree lined grassy location not far from my house. Plus the folks who put it on are nice people. This was the 10th annual event and featured some really nice cars such as a rare Studebaker, a Chevy 3100 pick-up, a 1970 Chevelle, a GMC pick-up, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a 1966 Ford Mustang, and a 1960 Ford Falcon.

Trucks At Rollin' On the River

The Rollin' On the River Car Show always brings out a lot of different types of rides. Included in this is always a large selection of trucks. Like the cars from the 1950s I posted yesterday, there were way too many to have in just one post so you truck fans need to keep an eye out for when I get around to posting more during the off season months.

50s Cars At Rollin' On the River

This year's 28th Annual Rollin' On the River Car Show had, as always, a very diverse turn out. There were a number of great cars from the 1950s. Too many for this one post so more will be coming when I get around to posting in the off season.

Hemmings Classic Car Weekly Newsletter

Here's a link to this week's Hemmings Classic Car Newsletter. This week's lead story is about a beautiful 1950 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe. If you don't already subscribe to the newsletter I suggest you do so. It's always filled with great material about the old car hobby.

Classic Car Guide

I recently received some information from MoneyPod about a Classic Car Guide they have assembled. The guide appears to have been created for the UK market but from the looks of it and what I read in the UK magazines things probably hold up all over the world. If nothing else it will give you an idea of where to start. Normally I would like to write up a larger piece but since I'm totally swamped between writing for the magazine and helping to produce a motorcycle make over show (hopefully more on that to come in the near future) and since their Infographic was so thorough I'm just going to post a link to that here. Let me know if you have any questions by either leaving a comment or dropping me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

More From a Soggy Rollin' On the River

On good weather years the Rollin' On the River Car Show will bring out close to 500 of the best vehicles you could imagine. This year's event was marred with rain which limited the number to about 200. Among those in attendance was a 1970 Skylark convertible, an AMC AMX, a Chevrolet Corvair, a low rider Impala, a 1961 Chevy four door, a customized Chevy Camaro, a slick looking low rider, and a Chevy Biscayne.

The Smaller Side of Muscle

The folks at Legendary Videos have put out a list of "compact" muscle cars they would like to drive. Take a look and let me know which ones you would like to drive or maybe they forgot to include a favorite of yours. Leave a comment or drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

28th Annual Rollin' On the River Show

This year marked the 28th Annual Rollin' On the River Car Show held in Fernbank Park on the banks of the Ohio River. The setting is beautiful and large enough for a multitude of cars but as it has happened in a few past years, the weather did not co-operate. Still, over 200 cars came out on this rainy day including a sweet chopped Ford custom hot rod, a 1959 Chevrolet Imapala, a Cadillac, a Dodge, a Chrysler New Yorker, a Pontiac GTO, a Chevy Camaro Z 28, and an Oldsmobile Omega.
