The Cars and Courage show sponsored by VFW Post 10308 and held at the Diamond Oaks Career Center has become the unofficial car show season kick off event. Held the last Saturday in April the event has been fairly lucky with acceptable weather in the past few years. This year it was cloudy and cool in the morning but by the afternoon the clouds had burned off but the temperatures stayed below normal. Still, about 70 vehicles turned up for the event. Among them was an all original 1975 Mercury Comet, a 1969 Mercury Marauder, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a first generation Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport, a 1949 Studebaker 2RK pick up truck, a Volkswagen Beetle, and a Camaro RS.
