A Great Car Show Location

Mainstrasse Village in Covington is a great place for a car show. Not only are the streets tree lined and mostly shady but it is also full of great restaurants and shops. This always brings out a good selection of automobiles such as a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle. Also on display was a Shelby Cobra kit car, a Cadillac convertible, a C2 Chevy Corvette, and a chopped Ford sedan.

Rods and Customs At Mainstrasse

I find the folks who customize cars to be amazing. They take bits and pieces from wherever they can and often make new parts out of whole cloth (well, usually metal) and create something completely new. Whether it's a street rod, a resto-mod, a low rider or rat rod like our top car here, I appreciate all the work and creativity that goes into it. There were some very cool customs at the Mainstrasse show.

Excellent Cars From Mainstrasse

The Annual Mainstrasse Village show in Covington always draws a large and varied group of cars. Among this year's collection is a brilliant MG along with a couple others, a C1 Chevy Corvette, some shots from a Caramo Z 28, a 1969 Chevelle, a Pontiac GTO, a Ford Mustang, and another GTO convertible.

Lots To See At Mainstrasse

The annual car show held on Mainstrasse in Covington is always a large draw. It isn't uncommon for close to 200 brilliant automobiles to roll out and line the street. That was true from the event I'm re-posting here. In fact it will take almost two full weeks for me to post the cars I want to show. Among them were a couple DeLoreans, officially known as DMC-12. Also on display is a Pontiac Firebird, a Chevy Bel Air Handyman, a MG, a Chevy Side Step truck, an Austin Healey 3000 Mk II, and a Nissan 350Z.

Moving On To Mainstrasse

Back in the 19th century many people immegrated to the United States and settled, seemingly, in groups. That is what happened with Germans in places like Covington, a small city on the banks of the Ohio River. Their Mainstrasse area is a prime example of German archetecture. The tree lined street also makes for a great place to hold a car show which happens every summer when we're not in a global pandemic. And the show brings out a lot of really nice cars such as this Morgan 8, a couple Chevy Bel Airs, a Jaguar XK120, a Pontiac GTO, and a 1968 Shelby Mustang.
