The Route 42 Car Show Also Had Trucks

While the typical gathering of classic and collector vehicles is generally referred to as a car show, most also include other types of motor transportation, particularly trucks and other types of utility vehicles. The Route 42 Car Show brought in its share of these. Among them was this 1966 GMC half ton pick-up, a 1953 Ford F-100, a 1966 Bronco Half Cab, a Chevy Thriftmaster pick-up, a Chevrolet 3100 pick up, a restomod Chevy, a 1976 Jeep CJ5, a heavily tricked out 1985 Blazer, and an International Harvester pick-up.

Some Old Timers Showed Up For the Route 42 Car Show

Any time a car show draws in well over 100 vehicles you're going to get a steady supply of rides from the 1960s and '70s. But if you're lucky you will also see a good selection of older cars and trucks. The Route 42 Car Show did bring in a good number of these old timers including a 1930 Ford Model A, an Essex Super Six, a 1956 Studebaker President, a 1947 Plymouth, a 1922 Model T, and a 1954 Chevy Bel Air.

A Lot of Chevys Were On Hand For the Route 42 Car Show

Whenever you have an open car show, especially one that draws in excess of 130 vehicles, you are going to see a lot of Chevrolet products among the field. The 9th Annual Route 42 Car Show hosted by the Lebanon and Waynesville Lions Clubs was no different. There were plenty of gems like this 1972 Malibu as well as a nice selection of Novas and Chevelles and most any type of Chevy anyone would want to see.

The 9th Annual Route 42 Car Show

Stretching 350 miles from Louisville, KY to Cleveland, OH, Route 42 still exists despite Interstate 71 pretty much taking it over. Those people who live along one part of US 42 around Lebanon, OH have been celebrating the road with a highly popular car show. Recently they held their ninth event at Lifehouse Church. Sponsored by the Lebanon and Waynesville Lions Clubs, the event attracted over 130 amazing vehicles. Among them was this fantastic 1973 Dodge Challenger that has an interesting message in its side mirrors. Yes, the owner is a woman. Also on display on this hot and muggy day was a Chevy Camaro SS, a couple of Pontiac GTO muscle machines. a Camaro Z 28, and a 1969 Austin Healey Sprite.

Wrapping Up the Glendale Gathering

If you have been following my posts of the always impressive Glendale Gathering then you can probably see why it is one of my favorite shows of the year offering up a healthy selection of newer and more classic automobiles from both America and foreign shores. If you haven't then you might was to take some time and look back at the past few posts to see what I'm talking about. To wrap up the photos from this great show we have a 1954 Nash Metropolitan, a 1953 MG TD, a BMW 2002, a Jaguar E Type, as well as some newer cars from Jaguar, Audi, Aston Martin, and Honda. Feel free to let me know what you think about this show or to point out your favorite car or cars. You can leave a comment on the blog (no ads please) or drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

More Rarities From the Glendale Gathering

I know there are some people who are totally enamored with one particular manufacturer or model. I, on the other hand, get most excited about seeing automobiles that are not normally seen at the average show. That's one reason why the Glendale Gathering has always been one of my favorite shows. They manage to bring in some rare and rarely seen cars. This 1952 Packard Parisian Coupe is actually a one off that was built in 1995 based on the unrealized design plans of famed Italian Carrozeria Batiste "Pinin" Farina. Other cars on display at Glendale included a 1964 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk, a 1957 Chevy 210 Handyman two door station wagon, a Chevelle Super Sport with the 454 cubic inch engine, a 1968 Pontiac Tempest, a Land Cruiser, and a 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z.

More Corvettes Rolled Into the Glenale Gathering

If you've been following my posts about the many amazing cars that were on display at this year's Glendale Gathering then you are aware that this event draws a large number of Chevy Corvettes. I've already made one post highlighting these cars but here are some more of the many Vettes from numerous generations, starting with a beautiful C2 model.
