An Honored Collector Showed At the Cincinnati Concours

Several years back the Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance created a special display for an honored collector who was from the region. For the 44th Concours that collector was Rick Grant of Moraine, OH. Among his cars on display was a 1952 Jaguar XK 120 Drop Head Coupe which Americans call a convertible. When introduced in 1948 the car was given the moniker of 120 because it could hit a top speed of 120 miles per hour, making it the fastest production car in the world. The car is powered by a 3.4 L dual over head cam straight six cylinder engine that generates 160 horse power.

Another car in this display is a 1958 Porsche 718 RSK Spider. This is one of six center steering RSKs built and one of only four known to still exist. This car was a class winner at the 2017 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. It has a 1.6 L air cooled, four came flat four engine that puts out 165 horse power.

This is a beautiful 1960 Mercedes Benz SL 300 Roadster. Only 1858 of these cars were built between 1957 and 1963. It has unique "eyebrows" over the wheel wells that helped reduce drag. Power comes from 3.0 L inline six cylinder engine that produces 212 horse power.

One of the most expensive cars of its time this 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Short Wheel Base Cabriolet had a beautiful body by Pininfarina. This car was Best in Class at the 2019 Concours d'Elegance of America. It has a 2443 cc dual over head cam inline six cylinder engine that generates 110 horse power.

This 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Coupe is one of only 700 produced between 1934 and 1937. The car has a 3257 cc dual over head cam straight eight cylinder engine that makes 135 horse power.

This 1957 BMW 507 Roadster is one of only 252 built between 1956 and 1959. It was US importer Max Hoffman who persuaded BMW to produce this model for the American market. The car has 3168 cc over head valve V8 engine that puts out 150 horse power.
