Oldies at the Pumpkin Run

By requiring all of the cars on hand to be from 1974 or earlier, the Pumpkin Run Nationals brings out a lot of great collector cars. So saying something is an "old timer" among this group really means something. Among some of the older cars was this 1931 Chevy, as well as others from that marque as well as plenty of Fords, both Model Ts and Model As. There was also a couple of pre-war Buicks on display.

MoPar at the Pumpkin Run

There are three "countries" set up on the infield of the Clermont County Fair Grounds for the Pumpkin Run Nationals. About 1000 of the nearly 2500 cars park their according to their make. The MoPar Country was filled with a number of fantastic examples including a Dodge Dart Swinger, a Plymouth Barracuda, a Chrysler Newport Windsor Deluxe, a 1971 Plymouth, a Dodge Wayfarer, a Chrysler 300 convertible, a Plymouth Road Runner, a 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger, and a Plymouth Fury.

Bow Tie Country at the Pumpkin Run

While there were plenty of General Motors cars on display at the 43rd Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals, most were Chevys. In fact the organizers always set aside one of the "countries" just for this marquee. There are plenty of the usual suspects parked on the fair ground infield and I'll get to those later. Here are some random Chevys including a 1960 Camaro, a 1961 Corvair station wagon, a Chevy II, an El Camino, a 1958 Holiday, a Monte Carlo, and a 1974 Nova.

Ford Country at the Pumpkin Run

The Pumpkin Run Nationals divide the major Detroit automakers up into three different "countries" which basically allows for a show within a show. This year's Ford Country or as it's called, Blue Oval Country, featured some excelled cars. Among them was a 1972 Ford Maverick that was exactly like one I had back in high school. There were also a couple of early Mercuries, a couple of beautiful Thunderbirds, a Cougar, a GT convertible and more.

43rd Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals

Last fall the 43rd Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals was held at the Clermont County Fair Grounds in Owensville, OH. This is one of the longest running and largest car events in that part of the country. This year it drew an estimated 2500 cars (which I was told is pretty much the capacity of the fair grounds) for the three day event.Any type of car is accepted with only one rule: all the cars have to be from 1974 or earlier. And it brought out some wonderful examples.

Some of those cars that were on display included an AMC AMX, a Crosley, a Nash Metropolitan, a Willys Jeepster, a customized Studebaker, a Willys wagon, a 1960 Rambler station wagon, and a Studebaker Lark.

Wrapping Up the Bill Brewer Memorial Car Show

Today will be the last of the pictures and posts from the First Annual Bill Brewer Memorial Car Show. With well over 400 cars on the lot I barely even scratched the surface with the pictures I've posted but this sample of fantastic cars should be enough to whet any car lover's appetite for next year's show as well as the upcoming season.

In the lot for this show was a Chevy Camaro SS, a Ford Fairland GT, another Camaro, a Corvette, a beautiful MGB, a Chevy Sierra Classic 1500, a C2 Corvette, and a Chevy van.

More Mustangs From Showcase Your Ride

There were more Mustangs than anything else at the Showcase Your Ride for JDRF show. That makes sense when you realize that the show was held at a Ford transmission plant. Here are the rest of the Mustangs I shot during this show.
