You can venture to just about any open car show and you are bound to see a Ford Mustang or two. At the Cars In the Park At Deer Park event there were more than than. Here are just a few of the many that were on display, including this beautiful Mach 1.
Whether they're the great classics, ultimate collectors, overlooked and forgotten, or even brand new cars I want to talk about them. Feel free to leave a comment or, better yet, drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

Pontiac Turned Out in Deer Park
The famous, turned infamous automobile executive John DeLorean is responsible for turning one of the most staid automobiles lines into what was viewed as the performance class of General Motors. DeLorean was born in 1925 in Detroit, MI. His father emigrated to the United States from what is now Romania and became a union organizer for the Ford Motor Company. After spending three years in the Army during World War II, DeLorean earned degrees in both engineering and business before working at Chrysler and then Packard. In 1956 he moved to Pontiac where he was behind the development of the famed GTO. He rose rapidly at General Motors, becoming the youngest division head in company history. But when he failed to be given the top job at GM he left to start the DeLorean Motor Company and the rest is history, dark and failed history. But it was with Pontiac where he made his fame and many of the products he championed were on display at the Cars In the Park At Deer Park Show. Among them was a GTO, a Bonneville convertible, and an array of other Pontiacs including some of the last models released before GM closed the branch in 2010.

A Little of This and A Little of That At Deer Park
Among the 107 cars registered for the Cars In the Park At Deer Park classic car show one could say there was a little of this and a little of that. Nothing beats good variety where every place you look you see a different fantastic vehicle. This show had that. As proof, how about a restomod 1934 Dodge five window coupe, a 1936 Ford Roadster, a 1975 Volkswagen Beetle, a 1979 Buick LeSabre Custom, a 1967 Chevy Camaro Rally Sport, a Ferrari 328, and a Chevrolet Corvair.

Small Warships Sailed Into Deer Park
A fleet of small warships took part in the Cars In the Park In Deer Park car show. Warships? Doesn't everyone know that a Corvette is the classification of the smallest proper warship, just below a frigate. OK, most people think of a Corvette as the spectacular sports car introduced by Chevrolet in 1953 primarily to do battle with the European sports cars that were beginning to "invade" America. A nice selection of Vettes were on hand in Chamberlain Park for this event. Here are just some of them.

A Stunning Variety of Cars Rolled Into Deer Park
When an open show draws over 100 participants, the way the Cars In the Park At Deer Park event did, the odds favor a nice selection of variety. One example is this 1964 Imperial. No, not a Chrysler Imperial. Starting in 1955 Imperial was a stand alone brand in the Chrysler umbrella. They were the luxury models and it showed. The brand stood until 1975 and was briefly brought back in 1981 until 1983. Other nice rides that rolled into Chamberlain Park were a 1950 Chevrolet Business Coupe, a 1955 Chevy Bel Air, a 1979 CJ7 Golden Eagle Jeep, a Shelby Cobra replica, a Chevy Camaro Super Sport, and a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

Mustangs Gallopped Into Chamberlain Park
The Cars In the Park At Deer Park show attracted over 100 vehicles to Chamberlain Park on a warm, muggy day. With that many cars in attendance it's little wonder that there were quite a few Ford Mustangs on hand. Here are some of them, led by a 1967 convertible.
