Second Annual Family Fair

The 2nd Annual Family Fair was held under beautiful, clear blue skies with temperatures that belied the fact that there had been an recent unbearable heat wave. The event drew well in excess of 60 cars for the show that was a side line to the main, three day event that featured food and rides and all sorts of booths.

The show attracted an array of cars including this Mercedes Benz 560SL, a custom racing Camaro, a more stock version of the Chevy icon, a 1968 version of the car, a gorgeous two door Chevy hardtop, an Impala, an El Camino, an Oldsmobile Toronado, and a fantastic AMC AMX.

A Great First Effort

The first ever Symmes Township Firecracker Festival Car Show could only be called a success. While the turnout wasn't huge with just around 70 cars, it was respectable for a very hot, humid holiday weekend. The variety was interesting as well. There was a sharp hot rod sitting next to relatively new offerings from Corvette, Mustang, and Scion. There was also an original 1965 Shelby Cobra sitting next to Mustang convertible and a 1981 Jeep CJ 7.

A Rookie Show With Star Power

The 1st ever Symmes Township Firecracker Festival Car Show did not suffer from some of the problems seen by many first time shows. There was a good turnout, despite the heat, and a nice selection of excellent automobiles. Among them was a 1969 Super Bee, a few beautiful Camaros, a Ford Model TT truck, a C 3 Chevy Corvette, a GMC pick up, and a 1957 Bel Air.
