End of the Week At Thunder In the Park

Despite what turned out to be an oppressively hot day more than 80 very cool cars rolled into the lot behind the Amelia American Legion Post to take part in Thunder In the Park in support of autism research. Some of those cars included a Chevy Corvette, a 1972 Ford F-100 pick up, a Porsche 911, a 1950 Chevy pick up, a Ford Model A, a Corvair convertible, a Volkswagen Beetle convertible, and a Chevy Silverado pick up.

New Cars At a New Show

Going to Thunder In the Park for the first time allowed me to see some new cars. Not really new but some great old classics that were new to me. In fact, of the over 80 cars that were on display I would guess that almost half of them were rides I'd never encountered before. Included in the field was a great looking Ford Mustang, a 1939 Chevy Coupe, a chop top Chevy, a 1956 Pontiac, a Plymouth pick up, a couple Chevy pick ups, and a cool looking Ford custom.

This past year's Thunder In the Park show sponsored by the Amelia American Legion Post in support of autism research brought out a nice collection of over 80 great cars. Included in the group was Chevy Impala convertible, an IRoc Camaro, a Dodge Charger R/T, a Pontiac Bonneville, a sweet 1953 Pontiac custom with a really cool paint job, a Chevy pick up, an Olds Hurst, and a 1962 Ford Galaxie.

Heat In the Park

Thunder In the Park brought a lot of sweltering heat for the event. But just about everyone said the same thing: at least it isn't raining. That's because we've had an unseasonably wet August. So it allowed some great cars to come out including a 1996 Chevy, a Chevy pick up, a 1968 Chevette, a few Ford Mustangs, a Porsche 911, a Ford 100 pick up, a Camaro, and a 1970 GMC pick up.

First Time Attending

I love going to a show for the first time. I'm like a lot of people where I end up going to the same places each year which is all well and good but sometimes I like to add in a little variety. This year I discovered Thunder In the Park sponsored by the Amelia American Legion Post in support of autism research. And I'm glad I did. There were some great cars on display including a well done Mercury custom, a 1932 Chevy truck, a 1957 Chevy Special Delivery, a 1946 Mercury convertible, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird, a 1947 Chevy Fleetaster, a Chevy station wagon, a 1939 Ford, and a C 2 Corvette.

The Amelia American Legion Post sponsored this year's Thunder In the Park in support of autism research and it brought out some really cool cars including a 1955 Ford Fairland Victoria, a Nova SS, a Chevy II, a Ford Mustang, a 1967 Camaro, a Mustang Mach I, a 1972 Camaro, and a somewhat customized Nova.
