City Cellars

In looking through some car photos from 2009 I stumbled across an event called City Cellars. The name comes from a wine shop that was in downtown Cincinnati and who sponsored the event. It was the only time I was ever aware of this taking place. Not many cars filled the downtown location but my best memory was of the brick oven pizzas they served. The pizza was tasty and so were the cars, including a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, a Porsche 356, a pair of C 1 Chevy Corvettes, and a slick looking custom street rod. There were obviously more cars there but for some reason these are the only photos from the event that I could find.

4th Of July Archive

Happy Fourth of July to all of you who celebrate this holiday. In keeping with my trend of posting photos from my archives, I'm posting shots from my township's Fourth of July celebration. This one took place in 2011. You'll notice that a number of the cars are wet. It rained that morning but stopped before the parade and the rest of the celebration. 2009 Ault Park Concours d'Elegance

I have been posting archival photos from the 2009 Ault Park Concours d'Elegance. Ault Park was the first concours I ever attended and knew that when this whole blog concept was getting started that I had to include a lot of the wonderful cars that were on display there. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did at the time.

Among some of the cars in this post is a post War Packard, a first generation Thunderbird, a first generation Ford Mustang, a Ferrari 275, a couple of Jaguar E Types, a Ferrari Scudaria, a 2005 Lotus, and an Aston Martin.

More Archives From 2009

Waiting for car shows to be allowed I have been digging back through my automotive archives. These are pictures from the 2009 Ault Park Concours d'Elegance. Until this year when the pandemic caused it to be cancelled, this concours was the longest continuously running such event in the country. No, it wasn't the first and it wasn't the largest but it sure draws in some very cool cars.

Among the beautiful cars on display was a 1938 Horsch 853A. Notice the Auto Union badge on the grill. Horsch was one of the firms that made up this German automotive company. There is also a pre-war Mercedes, a BMW convertible, and some other great beauties. Take a look through these and let me know which you like the best. Digging Through the Archives

Until car shows are once again allowed in my region (any of the three states that make up this area) I'll continue to dig through my archives and come up with some cool cars to post. Today I'm heading back to the year 2009 and some of the cars that were at that year's Ault Park Concours d'Elegance.

 The first couple of shots are the exterior and interior of one of my favorite cars of all time, a Jaguar E Type. Next we have a Morgan, a Porsche GT-3, a BMW M2, an Alfa Romeo, a BMW 500, and a couple of Mercedes 300 SLs, one convertible and one hard top.
