Wine and Wheels and Vettes

The Fifth Annual Wine and Wheels show attracted a lot of lovers of good wine, good food and great cars. It also brought in a number of Chevy Corvettes. Here are the Vettes that were on hand for the event.

A Traffic Jam For Wine and Wheels

 The Fifth Annual Wine and Wheels show caused quite a number of problems for traffic and parking. The show was held in a block in downtown Cincinnati that was cordoned off for the event. With all of the streets being one way to begin with this caused a bit of a traffic pattern hassle for some. Add to that the fact that the show was taking up a large parking lot as well as the street parking and people were having a hard time getting there to enjoy things. Still, a number of great cars made it out including a concours quality1965 Rolls Royce Silver cloud III, a not quite stock Chevy Camaro, a Jaguar XJS convertible, a Lincoln Continental, and a 1963 Impala.

Celebrating Drinking and Driving - Just Not At the Same Time

The Wine and Wheels show really was designed to celebrate drinking fine wine and driving fine cars. Of course they weren't advocating doing them both at the same time. The show brought out lovers of wine, beer, and food along with enthusiasts of great old cars. Among the many fine automobiles on hand was a 1962 Imperial convertible. This is not a Chrysler Imperial. There was a time when the Imperial was its own brand sitting atop the luxury spot for the Chrysler Corporation. Also on hand were a Ford Model A truck, a MG Sprite "bugeye," a Pontiac Firebird, a Mercury Cougar, and a Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle.

The Fifth Annual Wine and Wheels Show

The Fifth Annual Wine and Wheels Car Show was held as a celebration of fine wine, fine food, and, of course, fine automobiles. Among the many great cars on display was a 1956 Continental Mk II, a first generation Ford Mustang convertible, a 1969 Chevy Camaro RS, a 1972 Buick Riviera, a drag racer, and a Mercedes Benz SL.

Wrapping Up the Pumpkin Run Nationals

The Pumpkin Run Nationals is an annual event that just saw its 46th year. Sponsored by the Fastiques Rod and Custom Club and held at the Clermont County Fair Grounds, the event raises funds for a number of local and regional charities. It is also generally the last show before our season ends and quite a show it is. It lasts three days and this past event saw about 2000 cars on the first day alone. Among them was a beautiful Studebaker Hawk, a Model T based rod, a De Soto, and more surprises. More MoPar Came To the Pumpkin Run

 Cars made by the Chrysler Corporation are commonly called MoPar by enthusiasts. MoPar stands for Motor Parts, the division that handled, well, the various parts. It became slang within the company and soon spread to those who were fans of these automobiles. A number of those fans brought their rides to the 46th Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals.
