More Great Rides From Lebanon

With nearly 100 cars pouring into Lebanon for the Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show there was bound to be some variety and a bunch of great historic vehicles. Among the ones on display was a 1931 Ford Coupe, a Chevy Camaro, a chopped and souped up street rod that began life as a Model A, a custom Ford TT truck, a first generation Corvette, a Monte Carlo, and a 1968 Mustang.

The Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show has become a regular late summer event in the city of Lebanon. With good reason. Not only is it held the same weekend as the city's Apple Festival but it manages to bring in a lot of cool cars for folks to enjoy. For example, here is a Chevy Chevelle, a second generation Corvette, a 1969 Chevelle convertible, a Camaro, a 1965 Ford Mustang, a Ford pick up, and a restomod Chevy coupe.

The Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show brought in nearly 100 vehicles including some you normally find at a typical open show and some that aren't seen that often. Among the cars on display was a Dodge Coronet, a Plymouth Road Runner, a Chevy Monte Carlo, a Ford Mustang, a 1955 Bel Air, a Chevy Apache delivery van, and an unrestored Ford TT truck.

Cars and Apples Mix in Lebanon

Lebanon's annual Apple Festival is a big draw for this community bringing in tourists from the region over the course of the weekend. On one of those weekend days, usually Sunday, there is an added bonus to the festival, a car show. The Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show brings in a different crowd but it's easy to see people wandering back and forth to enjoy all of the booths and events of the Apple Festival and to look at all of the amazing cars that are on display. For this installment the car show featured a Triumph TR3 and a host of other gems.
 

An Apple Fest and A Car Show

Every autumn the city of Lebanon hosts an Apple Festival which brings out all sorts of festivities from food to crafts to games. On the same weekend but not technically associated with the festival is the Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show. On this occasion the car show managed to draw about 100 cool vehicles including a 1966 Chevy Nova, a 1966 Ford Mustang, an Impala, a Camaro Super Sport, a Pontiac GTO, another Mustang, and a first generation Thunderbird.

Memories At the Jerry Patton Memorial Car Show

 Car shows always bring back memories as I see and photograph the various vehicles that are on display. Some of these memories are more vivid and personal than others. At the Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show I got to see Ford Maverick. In high school I got hold of a Maverick and drove it for a couple of years, and then drove it into college. I loved the car. Technically it was a Pony car but didn't get any of the same respect as say, the Mustang, Camaro or the Barracuda. While the car came standard with a 170 cubic inch four cylinder, mine had the optional 250 cubic inch Thriftpower inline six which made it just a touch faster than most people realized.Luckily I never got caught speeding. I kept that car until junior year in college when I got a Mercury Capri. Also at the show was a Buick Grand National, a Chevy Chevelle, a Cadillac ElDorado, Ford Coupe hot rod, and a 1968 Camaro.

Car Shows As Fund Raisers

Just about every car show is set up to raise funds for one group or charity or similar worthy cause. The Jerry Patton Memorial Car and Bike Show supports the causes that its namesake backed. The show brought in close to 100 cars including a beautiful Plymouth Barracuda, a Dodge Charger, a chopped Ford Coupe street rod, a 1956 Chevy Bel Air, and a fourth generation Corvette.
