Mustangs Galloped To the Pumpkin Run

 

The 47th Pumpkin Run Nationals attracted about 2500 cars and trucks over three beautiful autumn days. Among them, as could be expected, were a large number of Ford Mustangs. Here are just a few.

Rods and Customs Were At the Pumpkin Run Nationals

When the host of an event is centered around hot rods and customs it's a good bet that there will be a good selection of those vehicles on hand. That is the case as the Fastiques Rod and Custom Car Club hosted the 47th Pumpkin Run Nationals. Nestled among the estimated 2500 cars and trucks that were at the Clermont County Fair Ground for three days of beautiful autumn weather were a number of those special rides. Here are some of them.

 

Dodge Vehicles Rolled Into the Pumpkin Run Nationals

When a show brings in about 2500 cars and trucks, the way the 47th Pumpkin Run Nationals did recently, it would be easy to expect sheer chaos. But the host club, the Fastiques Rod and Custom Car Club, has a brilliant system. In addition to offering sections of the Clermont County Fair Grounds as a giant catch-all where any vehicle can park, there are also three "countries" that are designated to each of the Big Three American automakers. MoPar Country saw a lot of Dodges including this 1950 Dodge Wayfarer Business Coupe. Other Dodges included a whole slew of Charger R/T models as well as a Dart.

Falcon Way Once Again Graced the Pumpkin Run Nationals

While around 2500 cars and trucks descend on the Clermont County Fair Grounds each autumn for the Pumpkin Run Nationals, a unique feature of this event is how they offer not only an open for all cars area but also specialized areas for different makes and even models. One of the most unique is Falcon Way, an area designated for Ford Falcons. The regional Falcon club hosts it and, in addition to all of the things going on at the big show, they offer a show within the show. Here are just some of the Falcons that descended on that special section.

 

Bel Airs At the Pumpkin Run

The Pumpkin Run Nationals is unlike many open car shows. While any make or model can roll into the Clermont County Fair Grounds, every entrants for the 47th annual event had to be from 1974 or older. While you might think this would limit the turn out the Pumpkin Run traditionally draws in about 2500 vehicles and this year was no different. As could be expected, a good number of Chevy Bel Airs were on hand. Here are just a few, including a rare 1953 that is just below..

The Pumpkin Run Nationals

As is the tradition in our area each Autumn, the 47th Pumpkin Run Nationals was held earlier this month. The Pumpkin Run, hosted by the Fastiques Rod and Custom Car Club,  is the largest event in the region for folks into the old car hobby, regularly drawing about 2500 cars and trucks. All of these vehicles have to be from 1974 or before. There are no parking lot rides at this show. Over the course of three days the Clermont County Fair Grounds in Owensville is packed with people into this hobby. In addition to the show there is a swap meet, a car corral, lots of vendors, plenty of food all accompanied by a DJ and live musicians Among the rides on display at this year's event was a Studebaker Lark, a 1954 Chrysler that was actually raced by Lee Petty and Tony Bettenhausen, a Willys Jeep, a gorgeous 1948 Lincoln Continental, a Willys Aero coupe and an Aero truck, and a former Jackson Township Fire Department Jeep.
