Fords Rolled Into Fernbank Park

Ford is always one of the most widely seen vehicles at old car events and that was sure true for the 33rd Annual Rollin' On the River event held at Fernbank Park. Among the Fords on display was a restomod 1953 Victoria. Also in the park was a Ranchero, a 1953 Falcon convertible, a Galaxie, a Galaxie 500, another Falcon, a 1949 Super Deluxe coupe, and a 1952 Mainline.

Customs Were Rollin' On the River

Practically since the advent of automobiles, people have been making their own upgrades and adjustments. Often this was done to accommodate a specific need or location but following the end of World War II people began to customize their cars for looks and performance. Today, customs of all sorts can be seen at events all over the country. There were quite a few customs on hand at the 33rd Annual Rollin' On the River event held at Fernbank Park. Here are a few.

Bel Airs Rolled Into Fernbank Park

From its release in 1950, the Chevy Bel Air was consistently one of the best selling cars in America. Perhaps the most iconic of the line were the so-called Tri-Five models, named for the three years in the middle of the 1950s. The 1955 through 57 Bel Airs are always some of the most popular and plentiful seen at old car events. That was true for the 33rd Annual Rollin' On the River show held at beautiful Fernbank Park. Here are some of the Bel Airs that were on display.

The 33rd Annual Rollin' On the River Classic Car Show

One of my favorite shows of each season is the Rollin' On the River event held on the banks of the Ohio on the west side of town. The show always attracts a huge number of vehicles, over 700, so there is sure to be plenty of variety for every taste. Plus, it's held in beautiful Fernbank Park that provides plenty of shade for everyone to enjoy. This year, the the 33rd Annual Event, the weather was hot and sticky but that didn't deter anyone as the park was jammed packed with great vehicles like this 1972 Buick Skylark. Also on display was a Buick GS 350, a restomod Mercury Eight, a Comet, a 1941 Mercury Eight convertible, a 1941 Packard One Eighty, and an AMC AMX.

Wrapping Up the Bryson's Auto Repair 8th Annual Classic Car Show

The Bryson's Auto Repair 8th Annual Classic Car Show was a new event for me. It was a bit of a drive but the nearly 150 different cars and trucks on display made it worthwhile. Supporting the Salem Morrow Fire Department the event was held at the Morrow Arts Center and was blessed with perfect weather. Among those cars on display was a Chevy Impala, a 1996 Impala, a Chevelle Super Sport, a Rambler American convertible, a Ford Thunderbird, and an Oldsmobile Cutlass. Customs Came Out To Support the Fire Department

The Salem Morrow Fire Department was the recipient of the generous funding at the Bryson's Automotive Repair 8th Annual Classic Car Show. Held at the Morrow Arts Center on an absolutely beautiful day, the event brought out about 150 different and varied vehicles. Among them were a number of customs and rods of various types. A very cool one was this dune buggy that started life as a 1967 Volkswagen. Others were just as interesting.

Pontiac Put Cars On Display At the Morrow Arts Center

 Pontiac has a special place for me. Growing up this now orphan marque provided all of the cars for our family. After my parents moved to Cincinnati for my dad's job he was, after a couple of years, able to trade up from the 10 year old Chevrolet he was driving for a brand new Pontiac Tempest. Essentially, it was very similar to the 1962 Tempest sporting the LeMans trim seen here. That's why I was so pleased to see this car on display at Bryson's Auto Repair's 8th Classic Car Show held at the Morrow Arts Center in support of the Salem Morrow Fire Department. This wasn't the only Pontiac there that day. Also on display was a pair of different generation Trans Ams, a 1966 LeMans convertible, two Firebird convertibles, and a GTO.
