Corvettes Rolled Into Deer Park

The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most iconic of all American made cars. Made for over 70 years and now it its eighth generation (C8), the Vette continues to change and adapt. Perhaps this is one reason why there are so many collectors of this sports car involved in the old car hobby. And why you are bound to see some at just about any open car show. The Cars In the Park At Deer Park Annual Deer Park Car Show is no exception. The Vette represented the largest contingent of vehicles that pulled into Chamberlin Park. Here are just a few that were on hand for the event.

Cars In the Park At Deer Park

On a hot, sticky day in the middle of summer, over 100 cars rolled into Chamberlin Park for Cars In the Park At Deer Park. The park was in the process of a re-model and so the event was moved onto the grass near a couple of baseball fields. This, though, gave plenty of room for some fantastic automobiles to roll in. Among the beauties on display was a Ford Galaxie 500, a new Dodge Challenger, a Ford Super DeLuxe, a Chevy Impala, a custom Ford hot rod built to resemble the one in the movie American Graffiti, a modified 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, and a pair of 1964 Ford Galaxies.

Car Related Signs From The American Sign Museum

True car crazy people appreciate anything auto related. And the marvelous American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, OH has a fairly substantial collection of just such signs. The above is one of the more historic pieces. It is an actual sign from an Earl Scheib paint and body shop in Compton, CA. Earl Sheib was famous for offering low cost paint and body repair work. Started in California in 1937 it eventually spread to 23 states and even parts of Europe. The sign here stood over the interstate and, if you look closely, you can see an actual bullet hole that was never repaired. There are a lot of fascinating signs in the museum.  A lot of people who are into the old car hobby enjoy more than just the cars themselves. Many are fond of the various pieces of memorabilia that are also part of America's car culture. The American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, OH has a vast collection of all types of signs and that includes a number related to automobiles. Wrapping Up the Blue Ash Show

Today I'm wrapping up the 17th City of Blue Ash and The Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show. This is always one of my favorite shows. The venue, Oakwood Park and the Hazelwood Community Center, is absolutely perfect for the event with plenty of grass and trees for shade. The folks behind the show, The Untouchables Classic Car Club, are some of the nicest people you could meet. The judges are all concours qualified so the judging is absolutely fair. And this year, the weather was perfect, with sunny skies and a high in the upper 70s. Great Variety At The Untouchables Classic Car Club Show

The City of Blue Ash and The Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show always brings out a great collection of automobiles. This is a truly open show and the variety of vehicles on display proves that the 17th edition kept the tradition alive. Among the cars on display was a 1974 Alfa Romeo Berlina sedan, a 1940 Plymouth coupe, a custom 1949 Ford, a restomod Chevrolet Impala convertible, a 1997 BMW Z3, a Pontiac LeMans, a 1965 Chevy Impala super sport, and a 1965 Ford LTD Custom.

Some Great Automobiles Rolled Into Blue Ash

The 17th City of Blue Ash and The Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show saw a host of really great automobiles roll into Oakwood Park. The park, with plenty of grass and trees surrounding it, is a perfect place to host a car show. With perfect weather, sunny and a high in the upper 70s, this show was, as always, a gem. Among the cars on display was a rare 1986 Dodge Shelby Charger. That's right, a Shelby Charger. While famed racer and builder Carroll Shelby is most closely associated with Ford, it was the man who convinced him to do his magic on the Mustang, Lee Iaccoa, who, once he assumed the mantle at Chrysler, convinced Shelby to take a turn with the Dodge Charger. Also at the show was a 1963 Pontiac Catalina, a C7 Chevy Corvette, a Chevrolet El Camino, a 1981 CJ7 Jeep, a Shelby GT 500KP, a Mustang, and a 1968 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z.
