Live Music Greets Folks at the Annual Bethel Baptist Church Car Show

 

When people pulled in to enjoy the annual Bethel Baptist Church Car Show recently, they were greeted by some live music. Having music at a car show isn't uncommon but very few offer live musicians, so the 30 or so car owners who came out on a hot, humid summer day got something of a free concert. Among the rides on display for the event was a Chevrolet Chevelle, a Pontiac GTO, a Chevy S 10 pick up truck, a 1965 Chevy Corvette, and a pair of newer Ford Mustangs.

The Bethel Baptist Church Annual Car Show was held recently on a hot and humid summer day with about 30 vehicles taking part. Among them was a 1972 Plymouth Duster, a 1971 Dodge Charger R/T, a nearly new Lexus, a 1989 Ford Mustang GT convertible, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport, and a post war Chevy coupe. 

Wrapping Up the Glendale Gathering

Today marks the last day of coverage of this year's Glendale Gathering. Foreign Autos Create a Scene at the Glendale Gathering

 

The annual Glendale Gathering may not draw the most automobiles of regional car events, but it does tend to draw a large number of interesting and unique entries. In fact, it probably has a larger percentage of foreign automobiles in attendance than most other shows in the area. At this year's event boasted a couple of Porsche legends and a bunch of gems from Jaguar. There was a beautiful 1957 Porsche 356, a 1970 Porsche 911 E, a Jaguar E Type, a 2010 Jaguar XKR, a Jaguar XJS, a 2005 Jaguar XJR, a Jaguar XJS, another Jaguar E Type, and a Jaguar XK 120.

A National Historic Landmark Sees Historic Cars

 

The Village of Glendale holds a rare distinction, having had its town center named a National Historic Landmark. The village itself is historic, having been founded in 1851 as one of the first planned communities. Each summer, in order to raise money in support of their first responders, the village hosts the Glendale Gathering Car Show as part of a larger seasonal event. Among the vehicles that rolled out to celebrate this year was a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1, a Chevrolet Chevelle, a Chevy Suburban 1500, a Ford Blazer, a first-generation Ford Mustang convertible, another Chevelle, and a 1929 Ford Model T. 

Vettes Rolled Into Glendale

 

The Glendale Gathering held in the Glendale Historic District always offers a special place for Chevrolet Corvettes to line up to be seen. Vettes make up a rather substantial portion of the more than 70 vehicles on display for the event. Here are some of those American sports cars from this year's show.

Imports Were on Display at the Glendale Gathering

 

The annual Glendale Gathering Car Show always offers up a large selection of foreign imports. This always makes for great vehicles to check out as the event raises money for the local fire department. Among the imports on display at this year's event was a 1968 Mercedes Benz 280 SL, a 1974 BMW 1602, an Audi sport convertible, a Honda S2000, a 1978 Canadian Mini, a 1974 Ferrari 308 GT4, an Audi sport coup, and a deTomaso Magusta.
