Wrapping Up Sycamore Township

 The 11th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show obviously brought out some amazing automobiles including a spectacular Cadillac. There was also a very unique car on display, a kit car that was based on a Volkswagen frame and originally had an air cooled VW four cylinder engine but the owner created his own electric engine for the car making this one of the more impressive customizations you'll ever see. Also on display was a 1934 Dodge 5 Window Coup, a 1987 Oldsmobile 442, a 2008 Saturn Sky, a 1973 AMC AMX, a 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z, and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird.

More Brilliant Imports At Sycamore

 The 11th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show featured a good number of imports. Among them was a beautiful Acura NSX super car, a 2006 Jaguar XKR, a sleek 1999 Porsche Boxter convertible, a 1975 Triumph TR-6 along with a companion TR-6, and a 1953 MG TD.

Goats Were Grazing At Sycamore

 In 1963 General Motors banned their various divisions from taking part in auto racing. In theory this shouldn't have been a problem for Pontiac. The division was one step up on the ladder from Chevy in the GM family and had long been seen as a nice family car line. But John DeLorean (yes, that John Delorean) who was running the division at the time, had a different idea. He wanted to morph the brand's Tempest into something a little hotter. Dropping a 396 cubic inch (6.4 liter) V 8 into what was essentially a mid sized car let to something that has been considered responsible for the boom in the muscle car era: the Pontiac GTO. This was a high performance car with some different and many would consider sexy styling that got its moniker from the famed Ferrari 250 GTO which had so much racing success. The letters GTO stand for Gran Turismo Omologato which signifies that it is a grand touring car that has qualified for racing through the homologation process. The 11th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show featured a few of these great gems.

There Were Vettes At Sycamore

 As could be expected there were a number of really nice looking Chevy Corvettes that were part of the 11th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show. They ranged from the C1 version to the C2 seen above all the way through to the C4. Which is your favorite?

More Cool Cars Were On Display at Sycamore

There were plenty of very cool collector cars on display at the 11 Annual Sycamore Township Car Show. Among them was a sweet 1967 Oldsmobile 442, a 1956 Chevy Bel Air, a third generation Ford Thunderbird, a Camaro Super Sport, a 1969 Chevelle 396 SS, a 1964 Rambler, and a Camaro Z28.

Mustangs Were On Hand In Sycamore

Among the 100 or so cars that turned out for the 11th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show. Among them was a Pontiac Trans Am, a 1967 Chevy Chevelle 396 Super Sport, an El Camino, a Biscayne, a Camaro, a 1939 Ford Roadster, and a 1968 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight.
