Some Fords Were Among the Cars on Hand in Sycamore

The Ford Motor Company has traditionally been one of the most successful automobile manufacturers in the world. From the Model T to the Mustang, Ford has sole a lot of cars over the decades. That was reflected by the number that showed up at the 16th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show. Sure, like many open shows, there were still more Chevrolet cars on hand, but there were plenty of FoMoCo rides as well. Among the cars on display was a beautiful Ford Mustang, a 1981 Jeep CJ7, a Cadillac De Ville convertible, a Ford Gran Torino Sport, a 1966 Ford Fairlane, another Ford Mustang, and a concours quality 1937 Plymouth Business Coupe.

Corvettes at Sycamore Township

The Chevrolet Corvette has been a mainstay at car events all over the country for a long time. Debuted in 1953 as General Motors' attempt to stave off the tide of small European sports cars coming to America. The first versions of the car were a bit off, a bit underpowered but that quickly changed and now, in its eighth generation, the Chevy Vette is still going strong. This could be evidenced by how many were on hand at the 16th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show.

An Interesting Mix at Sycamore Township

Despite the event having to be rescheduled and it being an unseasonably hot and muggy day, the 16th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show saw about 60 vehicles roll into the parking lot at the Robert L. Schuler Sports Complex. Those vehicles represented an interesting mix of makes and models. Among the rides on hand for the show was a Jeep Loredo, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, a Ford Gran Torino, a 2005 Morgan Aero 8, a street rod based on a Ford coupe, and an all-matching numbers 1967 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport.

Rescheduled and With Hot Weather the 16th Sycamore Township Car Show Came Off Well

Despite having to be rescheduled earlier in the year because of rain and with unseasonably hot and humid weather, the 16th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show could be considered a success. There were competing car events in the area and still, about 60 vehicles piled into the parking lot at the Robert L. Schuler Sports Complex. Among the cars on hand was a 1955 Chevrolet 210 sedan, a 1968 Chevy Camaro, a Chevy Biscayne, a Chevy Monte Carlo, a 1937 Ford coupe, a 1951 Mercury Custom, and a Jeep Scrambler.

Wrapping Up the Devou Park Concours d'Elegance

It is easy to say that the second year of the Devou Park Concours d'Elegance could be considered a success. Raising money for the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center, the Concours Devou featured some absolutely amazing automobiles. As always, feel free to let me know what you thought of the cars at this event by either leaving a comment (no ads, please, they only get deleted) or by dropping me a note at turnerbudds@yahoo.com. To close it out here are some of the cars not technically taking part in the event but most being part of the area's Porsche club, with one notable exception, a 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III which has been featured in numerous movies and TV shows including Cannonball Run.
