The City of Cheviot

The city of Cheviot, the home of the Annual Cheviot Classic Car Show, owes its roots to the vision of a Scottish immigrant. In 1816 John Craig purchased 320 acres of land where he laid out an inn and a tavern. He went about laying out the design for a village and soon was selling off lots. He named the town Cheviot after the Cheviot Hills of Southern Scotland. Today the village has a population of over 8000 people and it seemed as though all of them turned out for the annual Classic Car Show. From the looks of the cars that were being shown, they all had good reason.
