Classics Abound in Deer Park

One doesn't know for sure exactly what they will get at an open car show. The odds are good that there will be certain vehicles, those almost expected to be there. Generally, there will be a spattering or more of modern cars and trucks. And for some, there may be the hope of seeing something rare and unique, an absolute classic. The Classic Car Show in the Park held in Deer Park saw around 60 vehicles show up, the number limited by the need to hold the event on the parking lot rather than the Chamberlain Park lawn, saw more than a couple classics on hand for their recent event. There was a 1967 Ford Mustang convertible, a concorse veteran 1937 Plymouth Business Coupe, a 1950 Cadillac Series 61, a 1969 Dodge Dart Custom, a 1948 Cadillac Series 62, a Ford F-250 Camper Special, and a customized Ford Rancharo. 

Rain Played a Factor in Deer Park

 

The Classic Car Show in the Park in Deer Park was held on a hot, muggy, mostly cloudy day but while it didn't rain on the event itself, rain played a major factor in the show. Generally, the event is held on the spacious grass of Chamberlain Park but with a vast amount of rain having fallen the previous week the organizers moved the show to the park's parking lot. Unfortunately, the lot isn't that large and only about 60 vehicles ended up taking part. Among them was a Ford Mustang, a Buick Riviera, a 1965 Ford Galaxie convertible, a Dodge Coronet 500, a Mustang GT, a 1938 Ford coupe, and a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Classic Car Show In the Park

 

The Classic Car Show in the Park was held in Deer Park's Chamberlain Park on a hot, humid summer day. Usually, this event is held in the large grassy area between ball fields but with so much recent rain the organizers moved it to the parking lot. This hampered the number of vehicles that could take part and only around 60 made the show. Still, there were some pretty cool vehicles on display including a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. It was a 1955 Bel Air that was the first car I ever drove, and it happened when I was 12. Also on display was a Plymouth Super Bee, a custom Ford Custom, a 1938 Ford coupe, a 1969 Chevy Chevelle, a couple of Chevy Corvairs, and a 1965 GMC pickup truck.

Closing Out the Erlanger Lion's Club Show For Now

 

Today is the last post from the inaugural Erlanger Lion's Club car show, at least for now. The event drew over 100 cars and trucks and there just isn't enough time to show them all now. But trust me, I'll come back and finish them up once the car show season ends. The Erlinger Lions Show Brought a Lot of Variety

 

For a first ever car show, the one hosted by the Erlanger Lion's Club not only saw about 100 vehicles show up but that group was filled with a good deal of variety. Among the automobiles on hand was an amazing rat rod based on a 1929 Ford Model A. Also on hand was a Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck, a Plymouth Road Runner, a Chevy Malibu SS, a Chevy Chevelle 454 Super Sport, a Ford Galaxie 500 XL, a Ford Starliner, and a Chevy Corvette. 

Some Cars Not Often Seen Were in Anderson

 

The Erlanger Lions car show saw close to 100 vehicles show up this first ever event. And among those automobiles were some that one doesn't see at every car show and some you wish you would see more often. Among them was a Ford Custom, a Buick Roadmaster station wagon, a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda, a Dodge Challenger R/T, a custom 1932 Ford street rod, a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette, and a 1955 Chevy Bel Air.

Spanning the Decades at the Erlanger Lions Show

 

When nearly 100 vehicles converge on one location for a show, the hope always is that there will be a nice variety spanning numerous decades. The Erlanger Lions' Club managed to accomplish this with their inaugural event. Among the cars on hand was a C7 Chevrolet Corvette, a 1969 Ford Galaxie, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a 2021 Slingshot, a 2003 Mach 1 Ford Mustang, a 1963 Ford Falcon, and an all original 1965 Ford Thunderbird which has been invited to multiple concours events.
