In Roll the Thunderbirds

          When Ford saw the immediate popularity of the Chevrolet Corvette, they immediately began working on a car that would compete. In 1955, two years after the Vette hit the streets, they rolled out a machine that was worthy of the competition.

          The Thunderbird was a beautiful and powerful automobile that actually outsold the Vette early on. But unlike the Vette, which always stayed true to its sports car lineage, Ford eventually began taking the Thunderbird more toward the luxury end of the spectrum.

          For whatever reason, Thunderbirds don't seem to be as popular with the classic and collectible car enthusiasts and therefore don't show up as often at events. There were a good number at the Sharonville car show, though, and it's high time I posted the pictures. Hope you all enjoy.

Vettes Take to the Loop

          There are certain things in life that you can count on: death, taxes and that there are going to be Vette owners who show up at a car show.

          Unless it is a specialized show, you can always count on certain cars being represented. Yes, some people, those who own less common rides, will lament this fact but if you really think about it, there has to be a reason some of these mainstays are always there. In the case of the Vette, the car has been around for so many years, first rolled out in 1953, that there are plenty of different models from which to choose. In fact, the Vette is currently in its fifth generation. Add to that the outrageous popularity of this car and you can begin to understand why so many car buffs today still feel the allure of this classic American sports car.

          The annual car show held in Sharonville provided an outlet for those Vette owners to show off their machines. In fact, there were so many of these autos on display that I'll also be posting more pictures of them tomorrow. So if you are a hardcore Vette lover or even just a casual fan, enjoy these Vettes from throughout the years.

Last Random Cars From the Loop

        The Annual Sharonville Car Show takes place on the little town's main street area. Though not it's real name it is called The Loop because the actual road splits with one-way access going south, along where much of the main businesses are, and north, running behind them. With a lot of side streets and parking lots it is a great place for an early season car show. Hope you enjoy the last of the random pictures from this event.

Pick Ups With Pick Up

          I've never really been a truck guy but it always fascinates me when I see large numbers of folks showing up at car events with their classic or souped up pick ups. For me, who really doesn't know much about these vehicles, it is still fun to look into the past and see how people are preserving these old work horses and equally fun to see what they're doing to newer models. I hope you enjoy these trucks from a recent show.

Mustangs On the Loop

           With a show as large as the Annual Sharonville Car Show, one that has been going on for this many years, you are bound to attract a lot of the standard car show rides. Add in some clubs that make an appearance and you are sure to see a host of one kind of car or another.
          That was sure the case this year with the Mustangs. Of course, how can you not enjoy looking at the original Pony Car in all its forms? Enjoy.
