Classic Cars In Reading

Reading, OH is a small city that actually sits surrounded by the city of Cincinnati. It was formed in the early 1800s and named after the founder's hometown of Reading, PA. It grew as a railroad town but remained small in area, measuring around 2.89 square miles. It's population is around 10,000. As Cincinnati grew it began to incorporate many of the smaller towns to its north. Reading refused to do so and now sits as a small urban island amidst the bigger city.

Every year for the past 10 Reading has played host to the Show N Tell Car Show, attracting about 115 cars this year. Among them was a 1981 Jeep CJ-7, a 1966 Ford Bronco, a 1940 Ford street rod, a 1968 Chevy Biscayne, a Pontiac Trans Am, a Monte Carlo SS, a Dodge Coronet, and a Chevy Nova.

10th Annual Show N Tell Car Show

The 10th Annual Show N Tell Car Show brought in around 115 great cars on a warm, sunny September day. Among the many cars on display was a 1923 Ford T Bucket Custom, an all original, concours quality 1969 Mercury Marauder, a mid-century Ford Fairlane, a custom Oldsmobile, a Chevy Camaro, a Galaxie 500, a Camaro Super Sport, and an Impala.

Wrapping the Week On the Hill

The small town of North College Hill plays host to a Labor Day car show each year called Headin' For the Hill. This year was the 10th anniversary of the show and it was excellent as over 150 cars rolled out on a perfect early September day. Among those cars was a Chevy Impala, a 1957 Bel Air, a Ford Galaxie 500, a Volkswagen Beetle, a Pontiac GTO convertible, an Impala SS convertible, and a 1965 Oldsmobile 442.

Headin' For the Hill Car Show Continues

The 10th Annual Headin' For the Hill Car Show brought out a nice selection of over 150 cars to help raise money for the Disabled American Veterans. Among the cars on display was a later day Pontiac Trans Am, a pre war Ford Deluxe, a Pontiac Firebird, a 1970 Olds Cutlass, a Ford Super Deluxe, a Mercury Cougar, a 1967 Chevy Chevelle, and an Impala.

More Headin' For the Hill

The 10th Annual Headin' For the Hill Car Show brought out a huge selection of over 150 cars on a beautiful September day. The show is held to benefit the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and does a fantastic job. Among the cars that rolled out for this year's event were a 1948 Plymouth, a 1967 Chevy Nova, a 1970 Dodge Challenger, a well worn Saab 93, a 1972 Chevy pick up truck, a 1970 Chevy pick up (with a dog skeleton lined up to pee on the tire; which brought up a debate between my son and I as to whether a skeleton would actually have to pee), a Nova SS, a Chevelle SS, and a Pontiac Trans Am.

Post 'Em As I Saw 'Em

Those of you regular followers of this blog may have noticed that a lot of the time, especially on larger shows, I'll break up the pictures into specific categories. For example, I may have one post for just Vettes and another for Mustangs, yet another for foreign or custom cars. It's an easy way to keep things organized. But the 10th Annual Headin' For the Hill Car Show which managed to bring out over 150 cars is one I'm handling a little differently. For this show I'm posting the cars in the order in which I took their pictures.

That means this is how I saw them when my son and I walked through the show. Granted some cars pulled in after we had walked a length of the road and had to back track to see them but that was fine (we had to walk off lunch anyway). Among the cars on display was a fabulous 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a 1965 Chevy II, a 1961 Chevy II, a well used 1979 Ford F 100 pick up, a 1987 Oldsmobile 442, a 1936 Ford Roadster custom street rod (though you can't really see it that upholstery is all velour, including the dash), a highly decorated Ford Model T custom, and a Chevy Camaro.
