Back To Urbancrest

Today I am heading back to the 9th Annual Urbancrest Baptist Church show in Lebanon. I had been aware of this event for a couple of years but this was the first time I'd gone to it. For me it is a bit of a drive and seems to be located a bit out in the middle of no where but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it managed to draw well over 200 vehicles. That's plenty for me to put it on the calendar for next year. Among the cars on display at this past year's event was a beautiful 1965 Ford Thunderbird, a sweet Chevy Impala Super Sport, a 1971 Nova, a Camaro Z28, a 1974 Nova Custom, an amazing 1963 Studebaker Avanti, a 1971 Torino, and a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda.

Wrapping Up In Bethel With Something Different

The 29th Annual Bethel American Legion Post 406 Car Show had much more than just cars. In fact, it had a collection of very unique vehicles that I've saved for the last post. These range from a working camper van that looks to have a wooden cabin (it's actually foam fashioned by the owner), to a highly modified post War Dodge truck, some slick looking street rods (one of which actually uses old bath tubs for seats, a semi cab, a dune buggy, and, of course, the Ford Ranger that's towed behind our featured camper. Be sure to let me know what you think of this collection and this show by leaving a comment or dropping me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

Getting Near the End In Bethel

If you've been following the blog recently you know I've been posting from the 29th Annual Bethel American Legion Post 406 Car Show. Alas, I am getting near the end of the photos I took at this amazing show. I have a group for you today and a surprise from the show that you don't want to miss for tomorrow's post (what teaser). Today I'm starting off with a special car, a 1972 Ford Maverick just like the one I had in high school and the beginning of college. That Maverick not only got me back and forth from high school but back and forth from college for two years as well as hitting Florida twice for spring break. It was a great little car. Also on display was a hot Plymouth Duster, a Datsun 260Z, a Pontiac GTO, a Chevy Impala convertible, an all original Volkswagen Beetle, and a third generation Corvette. Let me know what you thought of this show and which of the cars you enjoyed the most by either leaving a comment or dropping me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

More Great Cars At Bethel

With over 150 cars on display at the 29th Annual Bethel American Legion Post 406 Car Show, it's little wonder that the field was littered with pure gems. Among them was this 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible, a C1 Chevy Corvette convertible, a Chevelle sedan and a rarely seen Chevelle station wagon, a Bel Air race car, a Ford Grenada, and a 1967 Chevy Nova Super Sport.

More Classics At Bethel

The 29th Annual Bethel American Legion Post 406 Car Show had more than it's share of recognizable classics. Among them was this stunning C3 Chevy Corvette, a 1939 Ford sedan, a 1969 Chevelle, an El Camino,  1924 Ford Model TT truck, a 1974 International Harvester Scout, and a 1972 Olds Delta 88.

Great Weather For A Great Show

There were surely numerous reasons for the large turnout for the 29th Annual Bethel American Legion Post 406 Car Show. One of them was probably the weather. It was a picture perfect summer day with temperatures in the mid 80s, low humidity, and a mostly clear sky with some scattered clouds. Add the fact that the show is off on the grass surrounded by trees and it's little surprise that over 150 great vehicles turned up. Among them was this amazing third generation Ford Thunderbird, a 1967 Chevy Nova SS, a Chevy 3100 pick up, a 1961 Ford F-100 unibody pick up, a Monte Carlo, a 1955 Bel Air, a 1968 Pontiac GTO, and a Fairlane.

More From Bethel

The 29th Annual Bethel American Legion Post 406 Car Show was, for me, a hidden gem that brought out over 150 amazing collector vehicles. Among them was this slick 1937 Chevrolet. Also on display was a sweet looking Chevy Impala SS, a Ford Mustang Mach 1, a 1930 Ford Model A truck, a 1972 Monte Carlo, a 1968 Mustang, a rare 1972 Willys Jeep J4000 pick up truck, and a pre-War Plymouth.
