A Perfect Day For a Car Show

Unlike several of the previous years, the 17th City of Blue Ash and The Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show had absolutely perfect weather. With sunny skies and the temperature at an unseasonably cool mid to upper 70s, this was a far cry from last year's near rain out or the brutal heat of the two years before that. This weather managed to attract about 70 great cars and trucks to the Oakwood Park at Hazelwood Community Center. Among them was a 1963 Lincoln Continental, a restomod Mercury coupe, two different Chevy El Caminos, a 1979 Lincoln Continental, a brand spanking new Rolls Royce Ghost, a 1971 Buick Skylark, and a Ford Mustang.

Blue Ash Brought Out the Gems

There were plenty of gems for folks to enjoy at the 17th City of Blue Ash and The Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show. Held on a perfect day at what many might consider a perfect location, inside Oakwood Park at the Hazelwood Community Center, the show attracted around 70 stunning collector cars. Among them was a rarely seen 1962 Pontiac Catalina, a brand new C8 Chevy Corvette, a 1972 Chevy Chevelle Monte Carlo, a 1971 Chevelle, a Ford Mustang, a 1969 Chevelle, a second generation Vette, and an El Camino.

Lots Of Perks At the City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show

 

Most cars shows will offer up some perks for folks who show up. There will be food and music and sometimes vendors. The 12th Annual City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show offers up some unique twists. As for food, it is free. Hot dogs, hamburgers, brats and metts are cooked up and they only ask for a donation. The music isn't the typical string of car related oldies. It is classic soul and R&B from the 1960s and 1970s. The setting, Oakwood Park and the Hazelwood Community Center is a perk in itself with plenty of grass and trees to help ease the summer heat. But perhaps the best perk is the group that puts on this event. They are some of the nicest and most helpful people imaginable. The perfect example occurred this year. I got a text telling my my oldest son's family had all come down with Covid and could I run and pick them up some food. I ran into a member of the Untouchables and told him why I had to leave. He offered to have a large batch of the hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, and metts put in a pan so that I could take them to my family. That is unparalleled in any environment. And the automobiles they bring in are pretty great as well. Among the cars and trucks at this year's event was a 1966 Ford Thunderbird, a 1949 Ford Custom, a first generation Mustang, a Shelby Cobra kit car, and a 1969 Chevy Camaro.

The City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Car Club Bring Their Show Home

Following a couple of years in a different location and a near rain out last year, the 12th Annual City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show was back in Oakwood Park and the Hazelwood Community Center. The show had to be moved when the park and community center underwent renovations. And while it returned last year rain kept all but a handful of people away. This year, though, the beautiful setting saw about 70 cars roll in for the event. Among them was a 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe, a 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo Super Sport, a Dodge Challenger, a Ford Mustang, a Chevy Camaro, a Chevelle Super Sport, a Volkswagen Beetle, and a Chevelle SS.

17th Annual City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Classic Car Show

For its 17th annual installment the City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Car Club Classic Car Show was back in its long time home, Oakwood Park and Hazelwood Community Center. It returned last year following renovations to the park. This show, though small in numbers, is always rich with fantastic classic and collector automobiles. This year there was a Studebaker Avanti, a 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne, a Chevy Corvette,  a new Dodge Challenger SRT, a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, a Jeep Wrangler Golden Eagle, a 1968 Chevy Camaro Super Sport, and a 1962 Rambler American convertible.

Wrapping Up the Back the Heroes Rumble Car Show

It's a shame that weather kept away the usual large crowd at this year's 6th Annual Back the Heroes Rumble Car Show and only about 70 vehicles took part. The show is held each year on the campus of West Clermont Schools in order to raise money to help support fallen first responders and service personnel. Because of there being so few cars this is my last post from this year's show. For this post there are some old gems and new marvels. First off is the spectacular 1959 Ford Fairlane complete with the retractable hard top roof. This is one of the few cars from a major manufacturer to bring such a thing to market. Also on display was a pair of modern Jeeps, a Shelby Mustang, and also a couple of mid-1950s Fords, a Sunliner and a Victoria.

Icons Came To Back the Heroes

The 6th Annual Back the Heroes Rumble Car Show managed to attract over 70 cars and trucks despite morning rain and the threat of more bad weather. The show, held on the campus of West Clermont Schools, is held each year to raise money to support fallen first responders and service personnel. Among the cars on display at this year's event were a number of automotive icons. Parked on the pavement was an iconic Volkswagen Beetle, a Jeep Rubicon, two generational examples of the Ford Mustang, a Chevrolet Corvette, a first generation Ford Thunderbird, and another VW Beetle.
