The first Ault Park Concourse d'Elegance that I covered for this blog had Jaguar as one of its featured marquees. Jaguar, which started as the Swallow Sidecar company making, well, sidecars, soon moved into making automobiles. They knew that they couldn't keep the word sidecar in their name and so they shortened it to just SS. Well, with the advent of World War II those letters took on a rather ominous meaning and so they switched the name to the moniker they had used on an early car, Jaguar. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Whether they're the great classics, ultimate collectors, overlooked and forgotten, or even brand new cars I want to talk about them. Feel free to leave a comment or, better yet, drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.
