A Show To Help Veterans

Each year the Downtown Throw Down raises money to help support the Southwest Ohio VFW Memorial Team. The Memorial Team is a group of volunteers who take it upon themselves to tend the graves of fallen military veterans and to place flags on those graves for certain holidays. From the turnout for this year's show it's obvious that many people believe this is a worthwhile organization. Among the more than 100 vehicles on display was a fantastic 1966 Plymouth Satellite two door powered by a 426 HEMI, a Dodge pick up truck, a Ford Fairlane 500, a Mustang, a 1970 Dart with the Swinger trim package, a 1969 Chevy Chevelle Deluxe, and a fabulous rat rod that started life as a 1971 MG. Among the many cool touches on this rat rod are blinking eye lashes over the front lights, a snowboard used as a back wing and what the builder called his emergency brake. Yes, that's a boat anchor in the back.
