Wrapping Up the Back the Heroes Rumble...For Now

The Volkswagen Beetle was first introduced in 1938 and by the late 1960s this "people's car" could be found on streets all over the United States. The car, technically called the Type 1, was cheap, basic transportation and allowed many growing families the option to have a second vehicle. The 5th Back the Heroes Rumble Car Show held at West Clermont High School in order to raise money to purchase lifesaving equipment for first responders saw two late 1960s Beetles. Though both were showing their age and had seen some modifications, they sat proudly among the American metal and seemed appropriate for this last post from the show. There are more cars from this event and will be posted later but there is a need to move on. Also at the show was a Chevy Blazer, a Pontiac GTO, a 1963 C2 Corvette, a Camaro, and a Chevy S10 pick-up truck.
