Raising Money For Research

St. Jude of Thaddeus is the patron saint of hopeless causes. He was a favorite saint of entertainer Danny Thomas who founded St. Jude's Children's Hospital in 1962 with the idea that families would never have to pay for the care and treatment of their sick children. To cover those costs takes a great deal of fundraising but groups like the Cincy Cool Cars Club feel that it is worth it since 82 cents of every dollar donated goes directly toward that care as well as research to find treatments for any number of afflictions. The club held their annual car show recently in Fairfield's Village Green with all the proceeds going to St. Jude. The event brought out around 130 cars and trucks to take part. Among them was a 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix, a Ford Bronco XLT made up to look like it was part of Jurassic World, a 1964 Chevy Impala, a Chevy Custom 10 pick up truck, an El Camino, an Impala Super Sport, a 1974 Dodge Challenger, and a 1965 Chevrolet 10 pick up truck.
