It wasn't a car and it wasn't a pick up truck. In 1959 Chevrolet rolled out a utility vehicle that was based on the Biscayne underpinnings. The El Camino was GM's answer to the Ford Falcon based Ranchero that had been introduced two years before. The first generation only lasted two model years but was revived in 1964. It lasted through its fifth generation and ceased production in 1987. It's fairly rare to see an El Camino at an old car event but the 7th Annual Cruisin' To A Cure For ALS show in Lawrenceberg brought out a number of them
