Most every collector car event has the main purpose of raising funds for a charity. The 5th Spirit In the Sky show held in Blanchester supported the Lane Heeg Memorial Scholarship Fund that provides money to both the local high school students and the 4H of Clinton County for scholarships. The fund is in honor of a young man who tragically passed away at the age of 20 and, according to organizers they average raising $15-20,000 per year. This year more than 100 automobiles rolled in and took part. Among them was a not quite stock mid 1930s Ford V8 pick up truck, a 1967 Pontiac GTO, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a Chevrolet Camaro Z-28, a 1969 Camaro Super Sport, another 1957 Bel Air, a Chevy Impala, and a 1989 Dodge pick up.
