Among the over 100 cars that were on hand for the 11th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show were a number of beautiful foreign imports. Among them was a brilliant 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible. This is a one owner car that was restored by a family friend over more than a decade. Designated the Type 14, the Karmann Ghia was introduced in 1955 and production ended in Germany in 1974 after over 445,000 were made. Also on display was a VW Beetle, a Porsche 944, a very rare Honda S600 which was the first Honda built for export though none we shipped to America, and a Datsun (the name Nissan used for early exports to America) 240Z which was released in Japan under the name Nissan Fairlady and has jokingly been called the best built British sports car as it was designed based on a Lotus.
