Some Imports Took Part In the Parade

There were a number of imported automobiles that took part in the 65th Antique and Classic Car Parade. Among them was the car that many believed saved the two seater sports car, the Mazda Miata. Often referred to as the best British sports car ever made, the Miata burst out of Japan and won the world. Also in the parade were some true classic British sports cars, a MGB and a MG TD. Nissans entry into the super car world, the NSX, was also represented. Two excellent German examples were also on display. The BMW 2002 (call it a Twenty-Oh-Two) was the car that pretty much saved the firm from sagging sales and also proved to be a road rally monster. The Porsche 914 was an interesting collaboration between the German sports car firm and Volkswagen. Released as a VW throughout Europe it was the entry level Porsche in the USA.
