Newport, KY has quite the history. Feel free to look it up on line but this town was the wild west for the longest time. It had gambling, gangsters, lovely ladies of the evening, essentially everything someone could want. And while technically it was all illegal, since everyone was on the take at one point in time, it was open for business. That part of the city's history is gone but much of the historic aura of this river town survives. Adding to that is the Wheels Back On Monnouth classic car show. This year, despite it having been rained out once and the threat of rain on the rescheduled day, more than 150 cars and trucks rolled into the town's main street, Monmouth. Among them was a 1967 Buick Wildcat, a 1967 Chevy Nova, a 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, a Chevy HHR, a 1997 Mercedes Benz S500, a Chevy Impala, and an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
