American Motors Made It To the Pumpkin Run

Following World War II the Big Three automakers, Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, pulled out all of the stops to try to sink their smaller competition. Companies like Studebaker and Willys and Packard would soon have to close their doors. Seeing the potential of shutting down, the Nash-Kelvinator Company and Hudson Motors merged in 1954 to form American Motors in the hope of competing in a cut throat market place. AMC turned out some amazing, though under appreciated cars but limited finances along with various other factors saw them have to shutter their name in 1979 when they were taken over by Chrysler. Luckily, there are some enthusiasts who have kept their AMC cars and a few of them rolled onto the grounds for this past season's Pumpkin Run Nationals. Among those was one of the coolest and least appreciated pony cars, the Javelin. Also there were some AMX models, a car that could just scream down the road. The Marlin was another underrated AMC car that rolled in for the show.
