Mid Level GM Cars

In the early decades of the 20th Century General Motors was rapidly expanding and in doing so they established a kind of tier system for selling cars. Alfred P. Sloan is often credited with this system that provided different brands at different price points. The idea was to offer a brand of car for every one's pocket book. The entry level brand was Chevrolet with Pontiac sitting just above the Chevy. The top of the heap was, of course, the Cadillac. In between were the Oldsmobile and the Buick. The Pumpkin Run Nationals saw a nice selection of these "mid level" GM gems. Among the cars on display were a couple of Olds Cutlass, an Olds 88, a Holiday, a 1956 Buick Special station wagon, a Riviera, a 1964 Buick, and a La Sabre.
