Kicking Off the Season In Support of Veterans

As has been the case for the past few years, the 13th Cars and Courage show sponsored by VFW Post 10380 was the unofficial kickoff to this area's car show season. Held at the spacious Diamond Oaks Career Center the event brought in about 70 vehicles despite a cool and cloudy morning. Among the cars and trucks on hand was a 1955 Chevy Bel Air. These cars have a special place in my heart since one was the very first car I ever drove. I was 13 and my older cousin tossed me the keys to go to town to pick up some parts for their race car. Also on display was a Ford Super Deluxe, a Buick Eight, a 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo, a 1963 Studebaker Avanti, a 1977 Chevy Vega, and a 1969 Chevrolet Caramo Z-28.
