With the massive international success of the Type 1 (better known as the Beetle) Volkswagen launched into its second vehicle shortly after the end of World War II. The Type 2 was to be a versatile machine that could be configured in various ways to haul people or things. Depending on the configuration it was actually called the Transporter, Kombi or Microbus but around the world it was most often referred to as the Bus. In the USA in the 1960s it became a favorite of the "hippy" crowd and was often called a "shag wagon" because of its most common use. A number of Type 2s in various versions made their way to the Porsche-Volkswagen Family Reunion. Here are some of them.
