Beginning in 1964 Chevrolet's mid-sized offering was the popular Chevelle. It was a step up from the Corvair and the Chevy II and was meant to compete head to head against the Ford Fairlane which had been introduced two years earlier. The Chevelle became popular as a muscle car, particularly the SS or Super Sport models. It also spawned a number of trims that would go on to later become their own line, most notably the Malibu. The El Camino was technically part of the Chevelle line as well. The car lasted through three generations and sold through the 1977 model year and people are still fans. That's one reason why there were so many Chevelles on hand for the 47th Pumpkin Run Nationals. Here are just some of the many that rolled into the Cleremont County Fair Grounds for the event.
