There Was A Lot Of Olds At the Pumpkin Run

General Motors acquired Oldsmobile in 1908 though the company had been around since Ransom E. Olds founded it in 1897. The brand easily slotted in the middle of GM's line-up which was designed to provide a quality car for every person and their budget. Four years before that acquisition, Olds left the company that bore his name due to a dispute over production techniques. Olds went on to form another car company called REO. One of their most well known vehicles was called the Speedwagon and helped give birth to the name for an Illinois based band many years later. Oldsmobile thrived as part of GM, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. Sales began slipping in the 1990s, though, and in 2000 GM announced it was closing down the line. Still, many of their cars remain popular today and quite a few showed up at the 47th Pumpkin Run Nationals. Among them was a Ninety Eight, a Super 88, a Holiday, a 1941 coupe, a 442, an F 85, and another Holiday.
