In the 1980s the beleaguered river city of Covington began an impressive turnaround. One major step was embracing the town's German heritage. They took the already picturesque Sixth Street and turned it into MainStrasse Village. The beautiful tree-lined street is filled with unique shops and restaurants and pubs and, until the Covid pandemic, each summer was the home of one of the region's most popular car shows.A decade ago here are some of the cars that turned up for the event: a kit car of the famed Shelby Cobra, a first generation Ford Mustang convertible, a pink Plymouth Barracuda with the coveted Shaker package, a Dodge Challenger R/T, a Chevy Impala convertible, a 1967 Camaro RS, a 1966 Mustang, and a Chevelle.
