For the longest time our car show season was kicked off with a massive show in Sharonville's famous loop. That ended with the Covid pandemic. Then, for the past couple of years the opening show has been the ever growing Cruisin' To A Cure For ALS show in Lawrenceberg. But this year the Green Township VFW Post 10380 held the Cars and Courage event at the Diamond Oaks Career Campus and got us started a week early. Among the more than 80 vehicles on hand was a beautiful Oldsmobile 442 convertible. For those who don't know, the name derives from the four barrel carburetor, the four speed manual transmission, and the dual exhaust. Also on hand was a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, a not quite stock Chevy Nova that had the standard 307 cubic inch V8 replaces with a LS3 that if fully tuned could make over 700 horse power, a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger, a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, a rare American Motors AMX that just moved back to Ohio from Florida, a Mercury Cougar, and a 1970 Challenger R/T.
