Of the 2500 or so cars that filled the Clermont County Fair Grounds for the 47th Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals, a good percentage of them were from Chevrolet. And among those Chevys there were quite a few Chevelles. The Chevelle was introduced in 1964 as Chevy's mid size offering. It was part of General Motors' A Body platform which also included the Buick Skylark, the Oldsmobile Cutlass and the Pontiac Tempest. The Chevelle ran three generations and carried through the 1977 model year. An early Chevelle trim, the Malibu SS (yes, the Malibu started as a trim before becoming its own line) became Chevy's entry into the highly competitive muscle car wars. Here are some of the Chevelle models that were on display at this past season's Pumpkin Run.
Whether they're the great classics, ultimate collectors, overlooked and forgotten, or even brand new cars I want to talk about them. Feel free to leave a comment or, better yet, drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.
