Rods Came to the Hill

Hot rod culture pretty much started in Southern California in the 1920s when people started heavily modifying old cars to race and run time trials on the dry lake beds outside of Los Angeles. This practiced really boomed following World War II when GIs returned home having learned the necessary skills to tear down and re-build a car. Today, hot rods and street rods appear at car events all over the country. That was the case for the Headin' For the Hill event in North College Hill. Here are some of the rods that were on display, including a beautiful 1949 Oldsmobile 88.
