Historic Glendale is that rare village that is actually on the National Historic Register. It's a beautiful place and for the past 15 years they have celebrated by holding the Glendale Gathering, a brilliant car show that features some extraordinary automobiles. For example, today we have a 1965 VW mini van, a 1967 Amphicar, a 1965 Ford Mustang, a 1954 Nash Metropolitan, a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS, a 1968 Mustang, an Impala convertible, a Corvair convertible, and a 20 year old Jeep Cherokee Sport.
Whether they're the great classics, ultimate collectors, overlooked and forgotten, or even brand new cars I want to talk about them. Feel free to leave a comment or, better yet, drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

15th Annual Glendale Gathering
We all have our favorites. We have our favorite cars, roads to drive, even car shows. The Glendale Gathering is one of my favorite local events for many reasons but just take a look at the cars I'm posting and you'll see a huge reason why I so enjoy this show. For it's 15th edition, some of the cars on display included a 1972 Chevy Nova, a well worn Chevy S-10 pick up, a concours qualifying 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang, a pair of Thunderbirds, one from 1957 and the other from 1955, a 1959 Impala, a serious looking street rod, and a 1957 Chevy Bel Air.

The Glendale Gathering
The Glendale Gathering Car Show has become one of my favorites to attend. The show is held in historic Glendale and always draws an amazing collection of automobiles. This year, for it's 15th anniversary, it nearly outdid itself. Among the cars on display was a 1964 Ford Mustang, a rare 1969 Cobra 428 Fairlane, a 1957 Thunderbird, a 1957 Chevy Handyman station wagon, a Pinto, an International Harvester pick up, and another, almost identical, 1965 Mustang.

Wrapping Up the Shriner's Car Show
Rain put a serious dent into the number of people who turned out for the 10th Annual Shriner's Car Show. Still, there were some pretty cool cars that showed up including a 1970 Ford Fairlane 500, a well used Chevy longbed pick up, a 1932 Ford five window, a 2000 Mercedes AMG, a Chevy Cheyenne pick up, a 1955 Bel Air, and a 1996 Impala SS.

Rain Mars the Shriner's Car Show
For the 10th year in a row, the local area Shrine held a car show fund raiser. In the past, this show, held in the parking lot of Quaker Steak and Lube, has been very popular and the lot has always been full. But this year our area has experienced record rain fall. In fact, about six months into this year and we have had only 65 days without precipitation. Still, a handful of cars did show up for this event including a couple of first generation Ford Mustangs, a Pontiac Firebird, a C 4 Chevy Corvette, a well worn 1964 Nova, and a beautiful concours winning 1961 Studebaker Hawk (that happens to belong to a friend of mine).
