Labor of Love Mustangs

Ford has to be part of any great car show, especially that little pony car that changed the way Detroit, and the world, looked at muscle. Here are the Mustangs that were on display at this summer's Labor of Love car show to benefit the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

Labor of Love MoPar

Until a few years ago seeing more than a couple of MoPar classics at a show was pretty rare. The reason was that parts weren't readily available in the aftermarket. That has changed and so more and more people are looking toward these great cars as a way to meet their hobby needs. Check out the MoPar cars that were on display at this summer's Labor of Love car show.

The Dark Knight and Beyond

One of the special displays at this year's 53rd Annual KOI Auto Parts Cavalcade of Customs was a tribute to three generations of the Batmobile. Yes I got pictures but not nearly as nice as I would have liked. I could have paid money and gotten my picture taken next to one of them with a hot model in a Batwoman costume. I declined.

In addition, there were a couple of really outrageous machines that were on display that I'm including here. The first is a custom made mammoth of a Touring Sedan from the Van Demark Motor Car Company. I didn't get a chance to speak with the gentleman running the display but I'm going to try to look up the company and find out more about this and their other cars. I walked from end to end and this baby is over 20 feet long.

The other one I wanted to highlight was a beautiful low rider 1939 Lincoln Zephyr. They call it "The Zemi" because, well, it's a Zephyr and has a 426 cubic inch, 505 horse power Chrysler Hemi V 8. Yeah. Everything is better with a Hemi.

Cavalcade Sports Cars

This year there were a few more sports cars than normal at the Cavalcade of Customs. Some I've posted already (such as the Lotus). There were a couple of Lambos and a Maserati representing Italy. A couple of Porsche 911s were on the floors (yes, this takes up two floors) but I wasn't able to get a decent shot of any of them.

At the Haggarty Insurance area they had three Panteras on display. Josh said that you can go a whole year and not see three Panteras and here they were. I could only get shots of two of them.

Also there was a nice display of DeLoreans. Again, I couldn't get them all, only three.

Hope you enjoy.

End of the Cavalcade.... Almost

Here is the end of Week Two of my posts from the 53rd Annual Cavalcade of Customs sponsored by KOI Auto Parts. And this is the end of my random postings of pictures of cars that Josh and I got to see at the event. But it isn't the end of the coverage, though. Wait until Monday.

Oh yeah, that gold VW Bug really is chopped. You don't see  that every day now do you?

Charity

Throughout the three days of the 53rd Annual Cavalcade of Customs, there are a number of auctions and fundraisers that benefit various charities. Anyone who has followed this blog knows that I am always trying to point out the good that car folks are doing throughout their communities. Yes this hobby is a a shared passion for great automobiles but very often those of us involved will do what we can to help those in need.

Muscle

For hump day I have a group of cars that hopefully will make a lot of folks happy. These beauties sure made Josh and me smile.
