Variety

The Cavalcade of Customs always offers up a wide variety of cars. In some cases the cars are grouped together as similar vehicles are placed next to each other. In some cases this is because of a specific car club that has taken up residence on the convention center floor.

But in many cases the cars are just interspersed throughout, mingling with cars from different eras and different ilks. That's what makes up a lot of the fun.
