This past weekend the 53rd Annual KOI Cavalcade of Customs set up shop. The Duke Energy Center was filled with all types of cars and trucks and bikes. Everything from high end sports cars to classic muscle to Rat Rods and everything in between.
What the show was founded on all those years ago was hot rods and customs. The show started as a way to show off custom rides and to share tips on how to do it. Both of these still hold true as KOI Auto Parts puts on training seminars each day of the weekend long show.
In addition, there are celebrities and pseudo celebrities aimed to attract families to the event. And it works. When Josh and I were there we saw a two hour long line to see some young girl from a Disney TV show neither of us had ever heard of. But the kids were happy and so too was dad who could wander through the hundreds of great cars while mom waited in line.
There is always a wide variety of cars at this event. In fact, the last car pictured here is Dave Krieger's homemade Woody that I featured in a post back in 2011 (http://turnerbudds-carblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/dave-kriegers-got-wood.html).
For the next couple of weeks I'm going to post some of the cars that we saw at the Cavalcade of Customs. Hope you enjoy.
