10th Annual Headin' For the Hill Car Show
Each year on Labor Day the small town of North College Hill plays host to the Headin' For the Hill Car Show. Each year that I've attended has seen a large turnout and this year's 10th edition was no different. Well over 150 cars filled the town's main street including a stunning 1949 Cadillac, a couple of beautiful Chevys, a fantastic Ford Fairlane Sunliner, a 1956 restomod Bel Air, a Dodge Dart Swinger, a Volkswagen Beetle, a 1969 Camaro SS, and a vintage pre-war Chevrolet.

Worth More Than Just Money
Here's a great article in today's Hagerty Newsletter that illustrates that owning and even working on a collector car is worth more than mere money. In some cases, you may even lose money but that isn't always the point. Take a look at this great piece and let me know if you've ever had any similar experiences. Feel free to leave a comment or drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

Using Space Age Technology
The organization that would become NASA made some major innovations during their time between 1915 and 1958. In fact, many of the technological breakthroughs ended up being utilized by automobile designers. Here's a really cool article in today's Hagerty Newsletter. Check it out and let me know what you think by either leaving a comment or dropping me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

A 'Rookie' Show
This was my first time attending the Erlanger United Methodist Church Car Show. The event had been held three previous years and I'm not sure why I haven't made my way down to Erlanger in the past. I'm glad I made it this time despite the stifling heat and humidity. On display was a beautiful and rare Avanti II (this is a post Studebaker Avanti), a Ford Mustang, a Chevy Corvette, a Ford Sunliner, a 398 Chevelle, another Mustang, a Monte Carlo, and a 1971 Chevelle.

4th Annual Erlanger Methodist Church Car Show
The 4th Annual Erladger Methodist Church Car Show held its event under mostly clear blue skies but in what would quickly become sweltering heat and humidity. Despite the fact that the temperature felt like 93 degrees with 60% humidity, more than 50 owners filled the front and much of the back lot of the church. Among those rolling into the lot was a 1955 Chevy 210, a Ford street rod, a work in progress custom pick up, a Camaro, a C3 Vette, another Camaro, a much newer Corvette, and a Ford Fairlane.

Highlights From the Orphan Car Show
Each year in Ypsilanti, Michigan a special car show is held for so called "orphan" cars. These are makes of automobile that have been discontinued and no longer have a surviving parent company. Here's a link to an article I found about the show (I'd love to attend this one some time) that highlights some of the cool, featured cars. Give it a look and let me know what you think.
