With the exception of the model year, the Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals is a very open event, drawing automobiles of all makes and models from all over the world. They have long been welcoming to custom hot rods and streets rods. For that reason there are always a large number of customs on display. This past season was no exception. For proof, check out this selection of great custom machines.
Whether they're the great classics, ultimate collectors, overlooked and forgotten, or even brand new cars I want to talk about them. Feel free to leave a comment or, better yet, drop me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

Over the past few years more and more pick up trucks seem to be showing up at collector car events all over. The Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals has been bringing in trucks in large numbers for years. Here are a few of them that rolled in this past season.

Another Selection of Fords At the Pumpkin Run
Today I'm posting some more of the many, many Fords that packed the fairgrounds for last season's Pumpkin Run Nationals. Among them is a 1972 Ford Torino, a Fairlane, a Galaxie, and more.

Mercurys At the Pumpkin Run
In 1938 Edsel Ford created the Mercury Division of the Ford Motor Company so as to bridge the gap between the low cost Fords and the luxury Lincolns. Over its 82 year existence it created and brought out many fantastic automobiles, many that are highly sought after collectables today. The Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals always draws a fine collection of Mercury automobiles. Here are some of the many that were at this past year's event. Among them is a 1948 Mercury Eight, a Cyclone, a Comet, a slightly customized 1951, and a pair of Cougars.

Mustangs At the Pumpkin Run
Ford shook the world when it unveiled the Mustang in middle of the 1964 calendar year. While technically it wasn't the first car to check all the boxes to be a pony car (the Plymouth Barracuda beat them to it), it was such as massive success that it lent its name to the automotive category. Today we have some of the many Mustangs that were on display at this past season's Pumpkin Run Nationals.

Falcons At the Pumpkin Run
For more than a decade the Ford Falcon was a strong seller in the compact car market, topping entries from both Chrysler and General Motors. While its direct successor was the Maverick (of which I'm a bit fond as that was one of the cars I drove in high school), the Falcon is perhaps best known for donating many parts toward the development of the Mustang.
At the Pumpkin Run Nationals the Falcon is so popular that they have their own special area apart from the other Blue Oval automobiles. Called Falcon Way, it is usually filled to capacity. That was the cast this past year as well. Here are some of the Falcons that were on display at last year's Falcon Way.

More Fords At the Pumpkin Run
For most of this week I'm going to be posting pictures of Ford and Ford products that were on hand at this past year's Pumpkin Run Nationals. To kick things off we have the rear end of a beautiful Thunderbird, a Fairlane with the rare hard top convertible option, a second generation T-Bird, a GT, a Cobra with the might 429 cubic inch V8, a third generation Thunderbird, and a Customline. Always feel free to let me know what you think by either leaving a message or dropping me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.
